Tradescantia fluminensis is a vigorous trailing plant whose stems naturally extend beyond the boundaries of its container. Its variegated foliage creates a moving pattern of green, white and lighter tones as the stems grow and overlap.

One of its defining botanical traits is its ability to root at the nodes of its stems. A single trailing plant can therefore develop into a much larger network of growth with remarkable speed.
