🇳🇱Dichondra argentea

Sourced from the Netherlands🇳🇱

Dichondra argentea is native to dry regions of the Americas. Its small, rounded leaves are covered with fine silvery hairs that give the foliage its distinctive metallic appearance.

That silver surface is more than colour. The plant's foliage is adapted to bright, dry environments, and its trailing stems naturally form long cascades. In a hanging vessel, the plant becomes almost a study in reflected light and movement.

Care

• Light: Full sun to bright partial sun. Strong light helps maintain its silver colouring.
• Water: Allow the soil to dry between waterings, then water thoroughly.
• Drainage: Excellent drainage is essential; avoid continuously damp soil.
• Humidity: Does not require high humidity and generally prefers drier conditions.
• Temperature: Protect from prolonged cold and frost.
• Feeding: Apply a diluted balanced fertiliser approximately monthly during active growth.
• Pruning: Trim excessively long or sparse stems to maintain a fuller cascade.
• Overwatering: Excess moisture is a greater risk than short periods of dryness.
